56th Legislature Second Regular Session Updates
The last week for bills to be heard in committee have concluded, and budget discussions are commencing. The Chamber’s Public Affairs team has been focusing on renewing Prop 123 and getting a balanced budget passed by the legislature and signed by the Governor by the June 30th deadline. The Chamber’s Issue Committee meetings continue with an update from the U.S. Chamber and a representative explaining Prop 123. These discussions will continue into the summer to stay apprised of the Chamber’s focus issues.
The Public Affairs team is also having Political Action Committee (PAC) discussions and starting the candidate endorsement process ahead of the election cycle this year. The Greater Phoenix Chamber’s Political Action Committee (PAC) has an esteemed history of supporting pro-business candidates for state and local offices, regardless of political affiliation. The Chamber thoroughly vets candidates to ensure their priorities promote a thriving business climate in Arizona. The Chamber has a dedicated PAC Board with representation across different industry sectors who are very engaged during election years. Participating and supporting the Chamber’s PAC is a great way for business members to have a voice in the upcoming election to champion pro-business policy and candidates.
