Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce Brings Together Mayoral Candidates for Live Debate
(PHOENIX) – The Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce (GPCC), in partnership with CBS 5, will host a free mayoral debate open to the public titled “Town Hall: The Next Mayor of Phoenix” on Monday, August 15. The debate will be held at The Phoenix Symphony Hall and doors will open for the general public at 5:45 p.m. The debate will go live for one hour at 7:00 p.m. on both CBS 5 and listener-supported KJZZ 91.5.
Mayoral candidates Wes Gullett, Claude Mattox, Peggy Neely, and Greg Stanton have been invited and have confirmed their attendance. CBS 5 anchors Sean McLaughlin and Catherine Anaya will moderate the debate and will ask the candidates questions submitted through the GPCC and CBS 5’s Facebook and Twitter pages.
“This is the most competitive Phoenix Mayoral race in decades; the person elected for this position will have the responsibility of taking the reins of the city at a pivotal point for our community,” stated Michelle Bolton, GPCC Vice President for Public Affairs and Economic Development. “The Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce is pleased to be working with CBS 5 and listener-supported KJZZ 91.5 to provide a large public venue for our community to learn more about each candidate before they cast their vote by either early ballot or on election day.”
