Lobbying Efforts

One-on-one contact with elected and non-elected government officials is essential when dealing with important business issues. Building and cultivating relationships with elected officials and their staff is mutually beneficial. The public official benefits from obtaining knowledge and facts. The Chamber benefits from having confidence that when important business issues arise, the official knows where the Chamber stands.

Public testimony at hearings is equally important. The Chamber's Public Affairs Team often appears before state and local government committees to deliver testimony on important issues. Having a direct presence at these meetings is critical since the absence of the business community can send the wrong signal of disinterest. The most common public hearings the Chamber appears at include the State Legislature, Maricopa County Board of Supervisors and Phoenix City Council.
