The Small Business Leadership Council is the advocate for small business within the Chamber. The council advises the member services team on topics and speakers that are relevant to the small business community. The SBLC also plays an active role in Public Affairs regarding legislation affecting small business.


To be a part of the SBLC, you must meet these requirements:

  1. Owner/Partner/Principal from a small business, one representative per company, unless otherwise approved. Board capacity is 30 small businesses
  2. Representative of a large business (100+ employees) who has an interest in working with small businesses.  Board capacity is 6 large businesses, one representative per company, unless otherwise approved
  3. Must be a Chamber member in good standing
  4. Industry conflicts must be approved by existing board member


Participation requirements for SBLC members are:

  1. Attend 75% or more Council meetings per year
  2. Attend at least one program per quarter (i.e. Professional Women’s Roundtable, Chamber Institute, Business for Breakfasts, After 5 Mixers, etc.)
  3. Attend at least one major Chamber event per year, (i.e. IMPACT Awards, Phoenix Forum, Athena Luncheon, Economic Outlook, etc.)
  4. RSVP to SBLC meeting in a timely manner

Hispanic Business Leadership Council

The goal of this council is to support the growth and development of Hispanic businesses and keep them informed, connected and prosperous within our community. Every month, the council presents its Bridging the Gap Luncheon, an avenue to attract small business owners to participate in a forum that communicates development and trends in the business community and helps them grow their business.
