The Chamber's Valley Young Professionals (VYP) group mixed, mingled and met with 2011 ATHENA Young Professional Andrea Stouder Pursley on Tuesday, January 24 at California Pizza Kitchen - Biltmore. As Executive Director of the Sanford Education Project at Arizona State University's Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College, Andrea oversees a unique educational initiative in collaboration with Teach for America. The program recruits, trains and supports teaches to create a better educational system for our future. Andrea shared her thoughts on the importance of a strong educational system to our economy and our society.
The VYP is a group designed for up and coming young professionals ages 25-39. Sponsored by SRP, the program is designed to create the next generation of Phoenix leaders by informing and educating them on important issues. The VYP meets monthly, connecting entrepreneurs and business professionals with a credible network to help them grow and develop professionally. As a member of the VYP network, you will have access to networking opportunities, educational seminars, behind the scenes tours and volunteer projects.
