In an effort to spotlight our community’s entrepreneurial spirit, the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce launched “Councilmember Connect” last year to bring together GPCC members and their Phoenix City Council representatives. By inviting discussion on important issues and seeking solutions to the challenges facing the Valley’s business community, the Chamber hopes to forge a closer connection between elected officials and the business constituents they serve.
On Friday, January 21,members met with City Councilwoman Thelda Williams (District 1) and visited Redflex Traffic Systems, Petsmart and HDR Architecture and Engineering.
Each half-day tour by a Phoenix City Councilmember begins at the Chamber’s offices, continues with visits to member businesses within the Councilmember’s district and concludes with lunch at member-owned venue. Leading businesses have the chance to showcase the work they do that fuels our economy on a day-to-day basis, while taking advantage of one-on-one time with their elected representative.
Travel arrangements and lunch for this event were provided by the Chamber in cooperation with HDR Architecture and Engineering.
