A vibrant business community depends on the attraction of new companies and the retention and expansion of existing companies. Several local authorities offer programs to aid in the continued growth of the Greater Phoenix economy.

City of Phoenix
The Community and Economic Development Department stimulates economic activity by offering a diverse range of value-added business programs to build, revitalize, and sustain a quality community for Phoenix businesses and residents. Activities include: business assistance, business site selection, downtown development, small business assistance, international business, and workforce connection.

Arizona Dept. of Commerce
The Arizona Department of Commerce’s mission is to create a globally competitive Arizona economy. In particular, the agency has an Innovation and Global Business Development office that promotes Arizona as a premier location for business expansion and location.  Commerce markets Arizona globally, promotes inward investment, and provides resource assistance to grow your company. They offer Workforce solutions powered by One-Stop centers throughout the state.  Commerce supports technology-oriented businesses, and links them with resources and ideas from innovative leaders throughout Arizona.  The agency maintains foreign trade offices in Asia, Europe and Mexico.

Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC)
The Greater Phoenix Economic Council’s mission is to attract quality businesses to the Greater Phoenix region. GPEC works cooperatively to project a regional identity and ensure a competitive, vibrant and self-sustaining regional economy. GPEC also collaborates with other organizations and relies on the metropolitan area’s talented, technologically advanced, diverse workforce to achieve these goals. GPEC provides the following services: workforce data and demographics, site and building specifications, GIS property listings, Arizona economic development data, area maps and other site selection assistance.

Discovery Triangle
An economic, environmental, intellectual and cultural corridor that includes the city of Phoenix and Tempe, the Discovery Triangle is a new regional model and multi-jurisdictional effort that has the potential to become a leading urban knowledge location for new and expanding technology-oriented companies. This urban corridor includes: downtown Phoenix and the biomedical district, Tempe and the ASU campus, and Papago Park.
