Ina Mae Copeland, executive director of operations for Valley Christian Centers, Inc., was the 2008 ATHENA Public Sector Recipient.

Rev. Ina Mae Copeland’s commitment to others is reflected in her personal motto: “To reach one is to save one.” Through one-on-one mentoring, as well as personal and professional support, Copeland has been directly responsible for helping 30 women – on three continents – transition from a crisis situation to productive citizenship. As a result of her efforts, several women have obtained university degrees, entered management positions and moved to leadership roles.

Since 2005, Copeland has served as executive director of operations for Valley Christian Centers Inc., an agency providing direct and supportive services to at-risk and low-income individuals and families.

Who will receive the 2012 honors in the Public Sector, Private Sector and Young Professional categories? Find out on Thursday, October 25 at the Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa. Visit www.phoenixchamber.com/athena for more information.
