Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce Thanks Governor Brewer for Leadership on SB 1062

February 26th, 2014

PHOENIX - On behalf of its more than 2,600 members and the entire Arizona business community, the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce (GPCC) thanks Governor Jan Brewer for her leadership during the contentious recent debate over Senate Bill 1062.

"We are thankful for the opportunity to meet with Governor Brewer and directly communicate to her the potential negative effects of this bill on our economy," said GPCC President & CEO Todd Sanders. "She said she would 'do the right thing for Arizona,' and we are pleased that she demonstrated that with her veto.

"We look forward to continuing to work with our elected officials to ensure that neither individual liberties nor our economy are threatened by unintended consequences to legislation," Sanders continued. "Above all, we want to continue to send the message that our great state is a welcoming place for all people to live, visit and do business."

The Greater Phoenix Chamber had joined with the Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Greater Phoenix Leadership, the Southern Arizona Leadership Council and many other businesses and business organizations in calling for a veto of SB 1062.
